Two “Awards of Excellence” were received recently by the Public Relations/Marketing Department at Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center. The recognition was granted by The Communicator Awards, which honor the creative excellence of Communications Professionals.

The Public Relations/Marketing Department at PCH/FMC consists of communications professionals Barbara Bergdolt, manager, and Erin Frank, associate.

In 2009, the PCH/FMC department received Gold Awards in two competitions as follow: (1) Medical, “Annual Report;” and (2) Photography, “Actually doc …”

The Annual Report is created yearly by the PCH/FMC Communications Department and contains the yearly summary of the PCH/FMC medical facilities. The picture which won the photography award featured a doctor, a mother and her small child in a patient examination room. These winners were selected from approximately 9,000 entries received from companies and agencies of all sizes for the competition.

Each year, the department enters a variety of contests to gage their quality of work against other institutions in the communication industry. The entries are judged on creativity and originality, but must also convey a clear message about the institution.

The Communicator Awards, now in the 15th season, are international competitions which recognize outstanding achievement in creative communication. The Award of Excellence, the highest honor, is given to those entries whose ability to communicate puts them among the best in the field.

Bergdolt and Frank are both very proud of these accomplishments. Bergdolt commented, “Winning these awards gives us reassurance that we are on course with industry standards, and are competitive in our field.”

In addition to print media, PCH/FMC marketing efforts include online advertising, the PCH/FMC website, billboards, radio, and television.
