10 reasons to work here

1. Practice as you wish

At Paris Community Hospital, patient care is our top priority. PCHFMC physicians are provided with a complete support staff to assist with technology, coding and billing, transcription, and marketing. A nurse manager oversees staffing and general practices to ensure your availability for patients. Enjoy a 4 – 4.5-day work week and 1 in 5 emergency call at Paris Community Hospital.

2. Large income potential, great benefits

PCHFMC offers a competitive income guarantee to physicians, as well as a production bonus based on collections. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life, disability, paid holidays, four weeks of paid vacation, one week of CME, CME allowance, pension/savings, and relocation assistance. Our Critical Access Hospital status ensures our financial stability and provides better reimbursement for Medicare patients.

3. Community need

Edgar County, Paris Community Hospital’s primary service area, is a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) as designated by the federal government. As a new physician, the volumes exist for you to foster a successful practice. There are also physician opportunities outside PCHFMC, including community organizations, nursing homes, and the local health department. We are one of the most attractive employers in Edgar County based on salary and benefits, which helps keep the local economy thriving.

4. Rich, 60-year history

PCHFMC is proud to be a part of the strong healthcare reputation in Paris. For over 60 years, our hospital and medical clinics have provided excellent healthcare for the community, and we look to continue that tradition for years to come.

5. Quiet but close

With a population of 9,000, Paris is a quiet and charming community located on the eastern side of Illinois. Paris features lakes, parks, golf courses, hunting, fishing, fine dining, and historical sites including a museum, arts center, and library. Paris is conveniently close to Chicago, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Springfield, and Champaign, for when you need a big city getaway.

6. Spousal opportunities

While Paris Community Hospital is a wonderful opportunity for you as a physician, the Paris community is an excellent environment for your family as well. There are numerous employment options available in manufacturing, education, finance, agriculture, and more. Paris also features churches, civic organizations, common interest clubs, and children’s activity programs. There are two public school districts in Paris with two high schools, a Catholic school, and a Lutheran daycare and preschool program.

7. Hospital/clinic medical campus

This provides convenience for physicians and patients in terms of clinic visits, ancillary testing, surgery preregistration, and more. We also operate two off-site rural health clinics and Senior Care, an outpatient geriatric psychology program.

Our facility proudly boasts the latest technology, including an all-digital radiology department, PACS system tied to over 30 tertiary care centers, athenahealth electronic health record in the hospital and clinics,  and a Multi-Wave Locked System (MLS) laser that promotes healing by increasing circulation and decreasing inflammation, which results in pain relief.

10. Lifelong patient relationships

One of the lasting benefits of working for PCH/FMC is the long-term patient-physician relationships. Our physicians are not only healthcare providers in Paris – they’re also friends, family, and neighbors.
