Because our mission is to provide excellent patient care and promote wellness throughout our communities, we believe the public should have access to our quality initiative data.

Hospital Quality Data

Although critical access hospitals such as PCH/FMC are not required to report quality data on a national level, we recognize the importance of this information and voluntarily participate in national reporting. The intent of these federal initiatives is to improve the quality of care provided by hospitals through the publication of quality indicators data and shared knowledge between facilities.

Below are links to national and state websites that report hospital quality data to allow our patients to see how we are doing in our ongoing efforts to improve patient care. While the information provided on these sites is accurate, it is important to recognize that real time efforts might have improved since the data displayed was provided. 

CMS Hospital Compare displays national data collected on many comparative quality measures including: Heart Failure (HF), Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI or heart attack), Pneumonia (PN), Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP), Venous Thromboembolism (VTE), Healthcare Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), and many other measures.

Hospital Report Card displays data collected by the Illinois Department of Public Health on many comparative measures in the state of Illinois including: nurse staffing information, hospital services offered with length of stay and average cost information, heart failure care, and pneumonia care.

PCHFMC also chooses to voluntarily seek accreditation from The Joint Commission (TJC). The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization, accrediting and certifying more than 20,500 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.
